SMTP authentication for MacOS X mail application version 1.2

MacOS X Mail Application version 1.2 requires the following changes to be made in order for you to use SMTP authentication:

  1. Run Mail application, under the Mail menu, select Preferences.
  2. Double-click on the e-mail account profile that is associated with your account.
  3. Next to Outgoing Mail Server, select Add Server... in the drop-down list.
  4. In the window that appears, in the field next to Outgoing Mail Server type: REMOTESMTP.WYITH.NET
  5. Ensure that Server port is set to 5190
  6. Do not check the box next to Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
  7. Next to Authentication, select MD5 Challenge-Response in the drop-down list.
  8. Enter your SMTP username in the User Name field.
  9. Enter the password for your account in the Password field.
  10. Click OK on the SMTP Server Options window, click Ok on the e-mail account window, and close the Accounts window.
